Revival Baluchari and Swarnachari sarees

Decades ago the whole saree used to be in "Golani" buta which took the saree long time to weave .To ease the life of weavers some people came up with the idea of Chalani buta .The Chalani is a little less time consuming than the Golani buta .Though that doesn't reduce the importance or beauty of the saree with Chalani buta, rather it shows a set of Intelligent Weavers who think , who evolve And that's why even in this age of Power looms and copied products Handlooms still exist.

A Revival Baluchari consists of Golani/Kadhua buta . The back side of Golani buta are not joined and gives Weaver the freedom to use any colour . It takes longer time to weave .

The more the amount of Golani buta the more expensive is  the saree . Another term commonly used is "Paar Golani"  which means the border is also done with golani buta, hence you can see alternate meena colours on the border .
So when you purchase a Baluchari being sold as Revival always check the amount of Golani buta used ...  Lastly our material is Pure Katan silk which is common for all kinds of Balucharis be it of any price range ??...

Last but not the least , "Why the term Revival ?" It's because in the earlier days of Baluchari weaving, the Golani buta was the only technique used for weaving . Since that has been revived again the term is called "Revival" . However the weaving has always been with the use of Handloom .
