About Us
Sareewali is an effort of three women sharing similar vision.
Aditi Banerjee (Khan), Co-Founder
"Amrita and I wanted to start our own venture some day. Didn't know it would be this soon. Being foodies, we thought that we would start a food venture. Here we are, draped head to toe in sarees."
An avid textile lover, her love for textile started as a kid when she saw her grandparents, uncle and aunts spinning silks.
She is an MBA and has worked for over a decade with corporates in pharmaceutical industry.
The roots began calling and she responded with vigor and enthusiasm to co found SAREEWALI.
Amrita Deb, Co-Founder
"To begin with let me admit it 😉. I was no lover of textiles, but a saree enthusiast. I loved to drape saree to the office (even when it's not ethnic Day). As a kid I draped my mother's saree during family occasions and enjoyed 🫣 being stared. Comfortable, soft, minimalistic easy to drape saree's are definitely my thing .
Aditi and I, co parenting SAREEWALI for the last two years is the best thing that has happened to us"
Amrita is an MBA with marketing major and she loves travel around and mingling with people.
Debborni Banerjee, Chief Designer
"Sandwiched between Aditi and Amrita best describes me. Aditi is always fussy about textiles and Amrita is always heard saying if we can we do something else with the design in the pallu. Or the colour didn't come out as expected 😳. Designing sarees have been my hobby since my undergraduate studies. The idea of filling the six yards with my creativity excites me. "
Debborni is an alumnus of NIFT. She is always looking to come up with designs that makes you turn around.
